Let me give you my definition of a handmade house, and with that, you will understand the focus of this site, and what I can offer you.

A handmade house is…

A) a house in which the owner plays some part in it’s construction

B) a house that is designed in a timeless style… one that will not become outdated in a few short years

C) a house that makes use of local materials

D) a house that makes use of salvaged materials

E) a house that is designed to last a minimum of a century… preferably for many centuries

F) a home built without faux design elements or faux building materials

G) a home that incorporates some traditional building methods such as… log, stone, timber-frame

H) a house designed to compliment the landscape, not harm it

Learning how to design and build your own home is empowering and it will bless your life, and the lives of your descendants, and, all of those who will one day occupy the house that you build.  Your handmade house will be your legacy for for future generations to enjoy. Your home will  be a blessing to your neighbors and community.
