You've asked for it... and now it's coming!
We get a lot of requests for help with regard to how to properly chink a log cabin.
We cover this topic in great deal within the Log Cabin Academy... but a lot of you already have a log cabin... you just want to know how to properly chink the cabin you already have.
And we can appreciate that.
Chinking is critical.
Perhaps only the roof of a log home is more critical to the preservation of a log home than chinking
The largest amount of calls that I have recieved for my service throughout my career has been to replace poorly installed chinking and perform the repairs to the logs that were damaged as a result of inferior installation of chinking.
The fact is that most chinking is installed incorrectly... and it is a rare occasion where I see it installed as well as it should be.
Properly installed chinking should make our cabins more attractive and should protect them.
And done properly should last a lifetime.
