This was a Charles McRaven log home restoration project.
Out front are a couple of the men I worked with, now over 30 years ago.
I did learn a great deal during that period of my life.

Hey Noah!
Thank you for the tribute to my dad. I did want to ask about minister in quotes? He actually is a minister now. He did attend school for it in his late 60’s (not an online fake thing)–pretty cool. I’m not Christian and it’s not my jam, but I respect the choice to start a new career at that age. One thing my dad is is tenacious! Would you mind adjusting that bit to reflect that? Totally get it if you don’t like my parents. You are entitled to that. To my knowledge, my dad has never written a negative thing about you in a public forum. In the service of a kinder world (which we all need nowadays), I wanted to make this request in case my dad ever comes across it.
Thank you,
Amanda
Hi Amanda!
I haven’t seen you in … several decades now (I imagine you are taller :)… I hope all is well.
For the record… I am a christian… and in my circle of acquaintances “being in the ministry” is a broad based term to describe one who serves God… whether a missionary, nun, reverend, volunteer, or any other of the countless acts of service.
My grandfather was a Methodist minister… all of the leaders of my current church are referred to as “pastors”… whereas the leaders of my wife’s childhood church were referred to as “fathers” or “priests”. When I spent all of five minutes writing this posting I was not certain which title your dad held so I just generalized it with it being “in the ministry”. There was absolutely no insult intended.
I have nothing but great affection for your parents. I enjoyed the time I spent working for your dad… he was always an entertaining figure, whereas in comparison I am pretty darn boring. I’ve been to perhaps a dozen plays at the Four County Players and hands down the best was Foxfire which Mac carried all by himself.
I went ahead and dramatically pruned back this posting to the barest of facts… to avoid any future misinterpretation.
My best to you and yours.
Noah
