Very beautiful, and strong. I read somewhere that some of the old masters would train the young trees the shape they desired for future timbers.
Yeah I’ve read that too Chuck. It’s rare for people today to consider working for the benefit of the next gernation. I used to live on wooded acreage owned by a German family… they still spoke the language between themselves even thought they had been Americans for three generations. Anwyay, their woodlot was amazing. Acres and acres of perfect oaks, not laid out in a grid, but like a park. Anyone else would have long ago cut them for the money, but they considered them an investment for future generations.
