We had heavy frost last night here in Virginia.
Fall is REALLY here now.
I do love the Fall colors.
And, flannel shirts.
And, lighting that first fire in the fireplace!

This is my favorite time of year. I love the seasons. Winter can get old though. shorter days and length of duration.
We had are first really deep frost last night too, I had my stove going (don’t have a fireplace). Just rebuilt it this year too.
Sorry about the spelling errors, and punctuation. I wish I could edit it. 🙂
No worries Chuck… my writing is loaded with errors… I can’t say that I’ve noticed any errors on your part, and thank you for your comments!
I’ve always loved all four seasons, but my tolerance for winter grows weaker every year.
What do you think of the company cedar creek cabin company.
Kenneth, to be honest… I hadn’t heard of these guys… and I assumed that they would be just another junky log cabin kit company that would try to sell some ugly packaged home. I went there and took a look around knowing that I would trash them in a response to you. But, these guys are different… and there is some real pluses with what they offer. I like their attitude of “bring us your dream plans and we’ll come up with the logs and notch them for you.” I like the fact that they flatten the faces of the logs and leave the tops alone. And that their prices appear to be very reasonable. These guys are much better than most suppliers. That said… a good set of drawings and knowledge on how to properly build a cabin are necessary before buying one of these… yellow pine would not be my choice of wood either… and I can’t get a look at their notching, but they appear to be very amenable to giving a client want they want (which is really cool… and rare). Also I’m concerned about the finished face of the logs, I wouldn’t want to live a rough sawn cabin… one hewn with an axe is best… but if you can’t get that, one that is planed smooth would be better than rough sawn… hope this helps… oh, one more thing… if it were me, I’d spend the 5k or 10k that it would cost above what these guys charge to get old salvaged logs (read my “why old logs are better” article found in the red link over to the left of the home page of this site).
