I do love the combination of log and stone.
On this cabin we used limestone that we gathered from the Shenandoah Valley here in Virginia.
I thought the copper roof and bow window of the stone section added a lot to the overall appeal of this home.

This looks great. My house is similar. We have a rock chimney and wood siding. I recommend choosing your rocks from a good provider if you are building, though. You don’t want anything going wrong with the construction process!
Thanks Luke!
Most of the stone we have used has come from salvaged sources… and on occasion from a stone center.
I am curious about your comment that there might be bad stone out there?
Can you clue me in with more detail on that?

Hi, I’m following you, watching videos. I could not understand what the material you used among the wooden knittings is exactly. Please inform me about this. Thank you.
Thanks for the question! I’m not exactly certain what wooden knittings are… but I assume you are asking about the chinking between the courses of logs… Here’s video of the process… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p89IPMYtcQI … I use a diamond mesh lathing material to apply cement to and then infill with insulation and repeat the process inside.
